Transit of Venus, June 5 2012
I used a Meade LX200GPS 10" telescope equipped with a Neutral Density-5 Solar Filter. Winds were light, but scattered clouds were present throughout.
The animation above is a composite of 73 images taken with a Nikon FM2 35mm SLR camera connected to the telescope via an F6.3 Focal Reducer. Click on the image to view a larger version.
With a Watec 902-H CCD camera connected to a KIWI Video Time Inserter, I was able to record 1st contact. Unfortunately clouds rolled in before 2nd contact. Click on the image above to view the 16x time lapse video.
